
Daija Fowler
Daija began her journey with A to Z Speech Therapy in September 2022 as a student clinician and returned in May 2023 to continue the journey with the company; She joined the team as a Speech Therapist. Daija was born and raised in the RDU area. She obtained her Communication Sciences and Disorders undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Greensboro NC. Directly after, she obtained her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Longwood University in Farmville, VA. Daija has ample experience working with children and adults of all ages of varying diagnoses including: Apraxia of Speech, Autism, cognition, early intervention, feeding disorders, fluency, expressive and receptive language, speech sound disorders, and pragmatics. The majority of her time has been spent with pediatric/young adult populations. She has a special interest in evaluating and treating early intervention, expressive and receptive language, and speech sound disorders. Daija has a passion for working with children ages birth-10 years old to encourage family participation by collaborating with caregivers to enhance their loved one’s communication abilities. She has experience working collaboratively with interpreters and public school personnel in person and via telehealth. Daija is currently employed by Durham Public School System and A to Z Speech Therapy. Fun fact for the road, when she is not working, she can be found cooking, fishing, playing bingo, or listening to music!
